About Me

I’m Freya Rodgers. I own 'El Armario de Freya', Boutique Store in Órgiva, Southern Spain. I also offer 1:1 styling, in-store and in your home.

After studying Fashion at the University of Leeds, I started out working in the merchandising team for John Richard, a costume jewelry company. From there, I moved into window dressing and store layout and design. After moving to Spain at 24 to be with my family, I started to work as an assistant buyer and manager of a very successful independent boutique. I then went on to work directly with the customers from that boutique, offering styling, image consultation and helping to refresh their wardrobes.

I have worked with people all over the world, styling in television and advertising as well as some modeling and shoot styling. I was recently approached by Netflix to work with one of their cast members but as I'm now based in Granada (not my native Marbella) I had to turn it down. After a break to have my daughter Amaia, I then went on to work for a company, expanding their business, finding locations, setting up stores, the systems, layout etc as well as buying the stock. Eventually being responsible for seven boutiques.

After a tricky divorce and a tough couple of years of treatment for breast cancer, I realised I had to change my life and my stress levels. Whilst under radiotherapy in the morning, I started to build my shop in the afternoons. Not only was it a step towards freedom, flexibility and independence, it was a goal keeping me motivated to not give up.

And El Armario de Freya was born! Everyone said I was mad to open a clothes boutique in a small town during a pandemic, but Orgiva is special, and so is the shop. It's a hub, a buzzing base and a social meeting point, coffees flowing and lots of laughter to accompany you on your style journey!

My passions in life are my daughter, my pets (from horses to guinea pigs) I love walking, travelling, cooking tasty vegetarian food, swimming in the sea and shopping (of course!). I'm a lover of a good cup of coffee, a real fire and wearing black.

I also love my job because I get to work with women to help them find their inner confidence, to feel fabulous and shine bright. Every woman deserves to feel great in her body, sometimes we’re just missing that perfect outfit to showcase it! That’s why this work is so rewarding for me, I see the change in someone’s whole appearance after they finish a styling session with me. Their posture has changed, their smile radiates and they walk out with a new found inspiration for their style and wardrobe. I feel very grateful to be apart of that journey.

Come in-store or contact me online to say hello, I would love to meet you and help you choose ‘that outfit’ you’ve been looking for!

With love, Freya

xx
